Welcome to the next part of my Discovering Life Purpose series, By Arne Pedersen from Hypnotherapy Victoria.
If you’ve just found this article, I encourage you to start from the beginning of the series to get the full benefit. In the last video, we explored the Awareness Practice—a simple but powerful way to reconnect to the body. This step is essential because our life purpose flows through our physical experience.
Spirit expresses itself through physical form. Our body is how we sense, experience, and interpret life. Through movement, sensation, and emotion—literally energy in motion—we connect with life purpose.
How Fear and Disconnection Block Purpose
When we live from old fears and unhealed experiences, we start running on automatic programs. Maybe something happened in the past that made you feel unsafe, judged, or rejected. Over time, that fear becomes familiar, and we build an identity around it—wearing masks, people-pleasing, or trying to be what others expect.
These protective patterns disconnect us from our true self.
When fear, anxiety, or self-doubt take over, it’s difficult to feel present. We may feel lost, unfulfilled, or as if life doesn’t make sense.
But these moments of discomfort are not failures—they’re opportunities for growth. Each time fear arises, it’s life inviting us to reconnect, to notice the pattern, and to return to presence. That’s our purpose in the moment: to meet what we feel honestly and consciously.
The Power of Awareness Practice
In the Awareness Practice from the previous video, we learned to reconnect with our body by focusing on the breath and physical sensations. When you feel anxiety or tension, come back to that practice. Notice your body, breathe, and ask yourself:
“Is there real danger right now, or am I reacting from an old pattern?”
This awareness builds the foundation for real change. Over time, you’ll begin to notice when your subconscious mind is pulling you into fear or limitation—and you’ll have the tools to bring yourself back to the present moment.
The present moment is your point of power. It’s where transformation begins.
Turning Fear Into Presence
When we feel fear or resistance, the instinct is to avoid, distract, or overthink. But if we bring mindfulness to the feeling—without judgment—we create space for change.
Through daily awareness practice, you begin to:
•Recognize subconscious fears as they surface.
•Reconnect with your body through the breath.
•Build emotional resilience by feeling safe in the present.
•Expand your comfort zone through self-acceptance.
•Strengthen your connection to intuition and inner guidance.
True confidence grows from this process—not from controlling life, but from trusting your ability to be present with whatever arises.
Helpful Reminders for Daily Practice
• Practice Daily: Even 5 minutes a day builds awareness muscles.
• Stay Curious: Each day will feel different—allow it.
• Notice Fear: When you feel unworthy, anxious, or self-critical, breathe and return to your body.
• Talk Yourself Through It: “I’m okay. This is just a feeling passing through.”
• Recognize Growth: Every return to presence is progress.
• Remember: Feeling discomfort means you’re healing.
By meeting life directly, your awareness expands, and new possibilities begin to appear. You start to live your life purpose rather than chase it.
