Welcome to the next video in my Finding & Creating Life Purpose series.
In previous videos, we explored how to reconnect with your body through mindfulness and meditative awareness. Now we begin shifting more directly into purpose itself — and how to start experiencing it long before major life changes happen.
Many people come to me saying:
“I’m not fulfilled.”
“My job doesn’t feel aligned.”
“Something feels off — I’m not happy.”
And often, they hope life purpose will fix that discomfort.
But here’s the deeper truth:
Life purpose can’t happen when the way we meet daily life is blocking it.
People search for life purpose hoping it will lift their unhappiness, but the way we continue meeting life through unhappiness is often what keeps purpose from coming through.
Why We Often Feel Unfulfilled
When life feels stagnant or empty, it’s usually because we’re living in ways that disconnect us from ourselves:
•Going through the motions
•Distracting ourselves mentally
•Complaining about our circumstances
•Feeling powerless to change
Sometimes people stay in jobs for decades that slowly drain their spirit. You may know someone who once had joy and vibrancy — and now looks numb or shut down. That loss of inner light often comes from living a life that doesn’t feel aligned or meaningful.
But here’s the important part:
You don’t have to quit your job or overhaul your life to start feeling purposeful.
Purpose can begin right now — in the way you meet your day.
Purpose Begins With How You Meet the Present Moment
If you feel stuck in a job or situation you can’t change immediately, you can still shift your relationship to it.
This is where your Awareness Practice becomes essential.
By practicing presence — bringing attention, curiosity, and heart into your day — you begin changing yourself internally. And when you change internally, your relationship with life changes too.
As Wayne Dyer said:
“When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.”
I take it one step further:
When you change the way you relate to yourself, the way you look at everything changes.
How to Bring Purpose Into Everyday Life
Here are practices from the video that help you awaken purpose in your daily routine:
1. Begin Your Day With Intention
You may not be able to change your job immediately, but you can change how you show up.
Set an intention such as:
•“Today I will bring presence to what I do.”
•“Today I choose curiosity.”
•“Today I will meet life with enthusiasm.”
2. Practice Presence in Boring or Repetitive Tasks
Instead of mentally escaping, ask:
• “How can I bring calm, focus, or appreciation into this moment?”
• “How can I meet this task with heart instead of resistance?”
This begins transforming your inner relationship with life.
3. Treat Each Interaction as Fresh & New
Meet people, tasks, and situations as if you’ve never experienced them before.
This alone begins to shift your emotional energy.
4. Look for What You Can Appreciate
Even in a job you don’t love, there is something supporting you — income, structure, connection, skill-building.
Gratitude opens you to new opportunities.
5. Notice How Your Inner Shift Changes Outer Circumstances
As you bring more presence and purpose into your day:
•You feel more alive
•You gain clarity
•You open to new ideas
•You begin sensing what you truly want
•Synchronicities start appearing
This is how bigger life-purpose changes begin.
Purpose doesn’t come from escaping your life — it grows from how you meet your life.
Why This Matters
When you live each day with presence, awareness, and intention:
•You feel more confident
•You feel more fulfilled
•You start naturally moving toward what feels aligned
•Opportunities begin to line up
•Your inner light returns
When we move through our day without a sense of purpose, everything starts to feel meaningless. It’s hard not to feel unhappy, unfulfilled, or negative about life when nothing feels connected to who we are. But when we have meaningful things to look forward to — even small, simple things — it gives us a reason to get up every day with enthusiasm. That sense of purpose naturally creates more happiness, interest, and fulfillment in our daily life. Purpose isn’t something “out there” waiting to be found — it’s something we create by how we choose to meet each moment with interest, presence, and intention.
Purpose first grows inside you — and then it begins showing up outside of you.
