This is Video #6 in my Financial Stress & Money Mindset series.

In the previous video, I talked about the example of a radio tuned to 100 FM. If the station you want is broadcasting at 100 FM, but your radio is tuned to 90 FM, you simply won’t receive what is being broadcast. The signal is there, but you’re not aligned with it.

In many ways, creating change in our lives works the same way.

If we want our lives to change, we need to become aligned with the experience we are trying to create. We need to move from where we are now toward becoming the person who naturally experiences the results we want.

Today I want to talk about a simple but powerful tool that can help with that process: gratitudes.

Using Gratitudes to Align With Your Goals

When I talk about gratitudes, I’m not talking about simply making a list of things you are grateful for.

I’m talking about intentionally using appreciation to change how you experience life.

If you want more freedom, flow, abundance, confidence, peace, or enjoyment in your life, then look at the essence of what you are seeking.

Often, what we really want is not the thing itself.

What we really want is how we believe that thing will make us feel.

If you start looking for things each day that already help you feel alive, free, excited, appreciative, connected, and in flow, you begin aligning with the essence of your goal.

Every small moment becomes part of the process.

You start achieving your goal one step at a time before the external result has even arrived.

Just like tuning the radio to the correct frequency, you begin aligning yourself with the experience you want to create.

Why This Matters for Financial Stress and Money Mindset

Many people struggling with financial stress spend a great deal of time focusing on what they don’t have.

They think:

•I don’t have enough money.

•I’m not good enough.

•I’m not worthy.

•Things never work out for me.

•Whenever something good happens, it doesn’t last.

The problem is that every time we reinforce those thoughts and beliefs, we strengthen the patterns that keep us stuck where we are.

If we want to create a different experience, we need to begin changing how we look at life, how we experience ourselves, and the habits we reinforce every day.

This isn’t about forcing positive thinking.

Simply trying to think positively often backfires because it isn’t aligned with how we genuinely feel.

Gratitudes are different because they focus on things that are already true and already available.

Using Awareness to Change Your State

One of the key practices throughout this series is awareness.

Use the awareness practice to check in with your body.

Notice what happens when you focus on something you resent, fear, dislike, or cannot let go of.

Notice how your body feels.

You may notice tension, tightness, resistance, shallow breathing, or contraction.

Now compare that to what happens when you focus on something you genuinely appreciate.

Your body responds differently.

You feel more open, relaxed, connected, and alive.

Your subconscious mind responds to what you repeatedly experience.

Whether you are reliving a painful memory or imagining something wonderful, your body reacts as though it is happening now.

That is why gratitudes can become a powerful tool for creating change.

They help train your mind and body to align with a different experience.

Building a New Habit

As with any new pattern, this takes practice.

The more consistently you focus on appreciation, the more natural it becomes.

Over time your mind starts automatically noticing things that bring appreciation, joy, beauty, and meaning into your life.

For example, while recording this video I was looking at beautiful yellow flowers and appreciating how incredible they were.

Earlier, I came across a patch of tall red and orange wildflowers growing in an unexpected place.

I simply stood there in appreciation.

It felt good.

The more we intentionally focus on what we genuinely appreciate, the more we begin training our minds to look for those experiences.

Free Consultation

If you are struggling with financial stress, money anxiety, limiting beliefs, self-worth issues, or feeling stuck in patterns that seem to keep repeating, I offer a free 1-hour video consultation. We can talk about the challenges you’re experiencing, how they are affecting your life, explore possible root causes and subconscious patterns, discuss your goals for change, and see whether my therapy process feels like the right fit for you.

Moving From Resistance to Flow

Whenever you notice yourself focusing on what you dislike, pause for a moment.

Use awareness.

Ask yourself:

How do I feel right now?

Is this helping me align with where I want to go?

Or is it reinforcing what I don’t want?

Resistance creates more resistance.

When we remain focused on what is wrong, we often become disconnected from the flow we are trying to create.

Instead, look for something you can genuinely appreciate.

It doesn’t have to be something big.

Find something real.

Find something true.
