This is Video 10 in the Financial Stress & Money Mindset series.
In the last video, we talked about leveling ourselves up. What got us here can’t get us there. If we want to experience a greater level of abundance, fulfillment, and freedom, we have to continue growing into the person who is capable of experiencing that next level.
Everything that has brought us to where we are today has served a purpose. It helped shape us into the person we have become. But if we continue practicing the same thoughts, behaviours, habits, and emotional patterns, we’ll continue creating the same results.
What we practice is what we get.
If we want a different experience, we need to become a higher version of ourselves.
A big part of that growth is learning to really listen to our heart.
There comes a point where we have to stop trying to copy other people’s path or simply follow what we’re told we should do. We can’t just watch someone else’s success and expect the same results by becoming more like them. We’re not them—we’re us.
Life naturally brings each of us different interests, passions, curiosities, and experiences. Those are important to pay attention to because they’re part of who we are.
If we continually push ourselves through things we don’t enjoy simply because we believe we have to, we’re building our future on experiences that don’t truly feel fulfilling.
Think back to the thousand-piece puzzle I mentioned in an earlier video.
Every single piece represents a moment of your life.
If each piece is made up of pushing yourself through life, ignoring your feelings, disconnecting from yourself, and never really listening to your heart, then eventually the completed picture—the life you create—will also reflect those same qualities.
You may reach your goals, but they won’t necessarily feel deeply satisfying.
If, instead, each piece is built from listening to yourself, following what genuinely feels meaningful, and becoming more connected to who you truly are, then over time the picture you create becomes much more fulfilling.
Real abundance isn’t just about having more.
It’s about creating a life that actually feels good to live.

Financial Stress & Money Mindset Series:
One of the greatest guides we have for creating that kind of life is our intuition.
Your heart and your gut are constantly giving you information.
Have you ever done something that didn’t turn out well and afterwards thought:
“I knew I shouldn’t have done that.”
“I should have listened.”
Most of us have experienced that.
I certainly have.
I remember buying an old Datsun pickup truck many years ago. Before I bought it, I had this funny feeling that something wasn’t quite right. There wasn’t anything obvious wrong with it, but inside I just didn’t feel settled.
At the same time, there was this sense of urgency. I felt like I had to make the decision quickly.
So I ignored that feeling.
I bought the truck anyway.
Before I even got it home, it broke down.
Afterwards I remember thinking, I knew it. I should have listened.
That experience has happened to me many times throughout life.
There was that quiet voice in the background, that subtle feeling inside, but I pushed it aside and kept moving forward anyway.
Often it wasn’t because my intuition was unclear.
It was because other emotions—urgency, fear, pressure, or doubt—became louder than my intuition.
That can happen very easily, especially when we’re under stress or worrying about the future.
Connecting Back to Your Heart
If you’re here because you’re trying to create more abundance and reduce financial stress, there’s a good chance you’ve also experienced a fair amount of anxiety or worry in your life.
If that’s true, you’ve probably spent a lot of time pushing uncomfortable feelings away.
You may have distracted yourself from them, avoided them, or gradually arranged your life around them.
Over time, fear starts limiting our lives. Our world becomes smaller, and we slowly lose touch with ourselves.
That’s one of the reasons listening to your heart becomes so important.
The challenge is that anxiety often disconnects us from the present moment.
Instead of living here, in what’s actually happening right now, we begin living mostly in our thoughts—our worries, our fears, our “what if” scenarios.
Eventually we start believing those thoughts more than we trust our own experience.
We lose connection with our heart.
Yet the present moment is where life actually happens.
It’s where manifestation happens.
The person you are right here, right now is the person who experiences everything you create.
If you continually disconnect from the present moment by getting caught in fear, worry, and overthinking, you’re also disconnecting from the very part of yourself that guides you toward your best experiences.
Your excitement comes through your heart.
Your curiosity comes through your heart.
Your enthusiasm comes through your heart.
Your intuition in your gut quietly warns you when something doesn’t feel right.
It may tell you not to trust someone.
It may tell you not to go down a particular path.
Or it may gently pull you toward something that feels deeply aligned.
The difficulty is that fear, urgency, confusion, or self-doubt often become louder than those quiet signals.
When we’re working toward greater abundance, we might spend time imagining the future we want.
We may feel inspired while we’re doing the visualization.
But later that day, doubt begins creeping in.
We start wondering whether we’re capable.
We question ourselves.
We overthink.
That’s why it’s so important not only to visualize what we want, but to continually reconnect with our heart throughout the day.
When you become clear about the essence of what you want to create—how you want to feel, who you want to become, and the deeper reason behind your goal—your heart begins gently guiding you one step at a time.
Instead of constantly asking:
“What should I do?”
You begin asking:
“What step feels aligned with the life I’m creating?”
Am I moving toward greater freedom?
Am I moving toward greater fulfillment?
Am I moving toward greater peace and abundance?
Or am I simply reacting from fear?
Your heart is remarkably good at guiding you if you learn to listen.
Helpful Support
If you would like support with this, I offer a free 1-hour video consultation where we can talk about the financial stress, limiting beliefs, emotional patterns, or subconscious blocks you’re experiencing, how they’re affecting your life, explore possible root causes, discuss the changes you’d like to create, explain my therapy process, and see whether we’re the right fit to work together.
The more we reconnect with ourselves, the more our decisions begin coming from clarity instead of fear.
And that’s where real change begins.
Learning to Listen to Your Heart
One simple practice is to pause before taking action.
Before you make a decision, before you send the email, before you make the purchase, before you take the next step, just stop for a moment.
Take a slow breath.
Breathe into your chest, bringing your attention into your heart.
Allow yourself to become a little more grounded.
Then simply ask yourself:
How does this feel?
Does it feel aligned with the direction I’m trying to move?
Does it feel expansive?
Does it feel harmonious?
Does it feel exciting?
Do I feel something gently pulling me in this direction?
Sometimes you may notice a little bit of fear.
That’s okay.
As we grow into a higher version of ourselves, we’re naturally going to step outside our comfort zone.
Growth often feels a little uncomfortable.
There’s a difference between the healthy discomfort that comes from stretching yourself and the warning feeling your intuition gives when something truly isn’t right for you.
Learning to recognize that difference takes practice.
The more you slow down and check in with yourself, the more you’ll begin to notice the difference between fear of growth and genuine intuition.
Every time you’re about to do something, pause.
Take a breath.
Connect to your heart.
Ask yourself:
How does this feel?
Then make your own decision.
I’m not suggesting you blindly follow every feeling you have. You always need to use your own judgment and decide what’s safe and appropriate for you.
But after you’ve made your decision, continue checking in with yourself throughout the experience.
How do you feel now?
Does it still feel aligned?
Does your heart still feel open?
What is your body telling you?
When you’re finished, reflect on the experience.
How did it turn out?
Was it aligned with your goal?
If it wasn’t, look back and remember how it felt before you began.
What was your intuition trying to tell you?
If it turned out really well, remember that feeling too.
Perhaps your heart felt more open.
Perhaps there was a sense of expansion.
Maybe you were nervous, but underneath that nervousness there was also excitement and a quiet knowing that this was the right direction.
Those are the feelings you want to become familiar with.
Every experience becomes practice.
Over time, you’ll begin refining that connection with your heart, your body, and your intuition, and they’ll start guiding you more naturally toward the life you’re trying to create.
When you do the awareness practice each day, spend a few moments imagining what it is you truly want.
See it clearly in your mind.
Feel it as though it’s already real.
Use your imagination the way a child does.
When children play, their imagination becomes completely real to them. A stick becomes a horse, a sword, or a magic wand because they’re fully immersed in the experience.
Approach your vision in the same way.
Allow yourself to fully imagine the life you’re creating.
Open your heart.
Feel the emotions you want to experience.
Then ask yourself:
What’s the next step that feels aligned with this feeling?
Sometimes it won’t seem logical.
Our creative mind doesn’t always operate the same way as our logical mind.
Life doesn’t always take us in a straight line.
Sometimes what seems like a detour is actually leading us around an obstacle, helping us learn something important, or preparing us for what’s ahead.
It may not always make sense in the moment.
But continue following the feeling.
Then afterwards, reflect on how it went.
Compare the outcome with the feeling you had beforehand.
Little by little, you’ll begin recognizing the unique language of your own intuition.
Bringing It All Together
The more you learn to listen to your heart, the more life begins to feel natural and flowing.
Instead of constantly living in your head, worrying, overthinking, and trying to force everything to happen, you become more present with what’s actually happening right now.
That’s where life unfolds.
That’s where opportunities appear.
That’s where meaningful relationships develop.
That’s where abundance begins expanding.
As you become more connected to yourself, you’ll likely notice that life starts feeling easier. Not because challenges disappear, but because you’re no longer fighting yourself every step of the way.
You’re working with yourself instead of against yourself.
You’re allowing your intuition to become one of the guides that helps you make decisions.

One final thought before you go.
This week, simply practise checking in with yourself.
Before making decisions, pause.
Take a breath.
Connect with your heart.
Notice what your body is telling you.
Notice whether the next step feels aligned with the life you’re creating.
You won’t become an expert overnight.
Like any skill, this connection becomes stronger the more you practise it.
Each day you’ll begin recognizing your own unique intuition a little more clearly.
And as you continue becoming more present, you’ll often find that life begins unfolding with greater ease, purpose, and abundance.
In the next video, we’ll explore another important piece of this journey
It is about living authentically and becoming the person you truly are. When we’re trying to be someone else or living according to other people’s expectations, it’s difficult to receive the abundance that’s uniquely meant for us.
I hope you’ll join me for that conversation.
Thank you for reading, and I wish you a wonderful week.
