Feeling lost or disconnected from yourself and wanting to find your life purpose? This article is the introduction to a full series where I’ll go deeper into this topic, because one video—or one article—can’t cover it all.
There are many reasons we lose connection with our purpose: the pressures of life and society, unresolved traumas, and years of people-pleasing that teach us not to trust ourselves or life. Over time, we drift from who we really are and start operating from false identities—wearing a mask, staying quiet so we don’t “rock the boat,” and trying to fit in. The more we practice these habits, the more we disconnect from our authentic self.
To genuinely reconnect with your life purpose, we need to come back into the body—into present-moment awareness—so we can hear our intuition and our heart. Mindfulness practices help us rebuild a sense of self from the inside out.
How Disconnection from ourself Happens
When we live from expectations—measuring our worth by job titles, income, or how we think others perceive us—we miss the point of purpose. We get stuck in our heads, playing mental movies about what people think, rehearsing what we’ll say, or dwelling on the past and future. Meanwhile, our body is in the present, carrying the emotional load of those thoughts. That gap between mind and body creates ongoing stress—physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.
Your Purpose Is Within
Your purpose isn’t something outside of you or something anyone else can define. It isn’t a label someone gives you or a grand title you have to earn. Your purpose is who you truly are—expressed. When we return to the body, we can feel our intuition and heart leading the way. From there, meaning becomes something we live, not something we chase.
Returning to Your Body and Heart
Through simple, consistent mindfulness practices, you can:
•Rebuild a felt sense of self and safety within your body.
•Hear the guidance of your intuition and heart more clearly.
•Release the pull of other people’s expectations and old coping patterns.
•Begin living your real values—one grounded, present moment at a time.
A Structured Path Forward
This series explores one area at a time—step by step—so you can move from A to B to C in an organized, supportive way. As you reconnect with your inner self and cultivate presence, you’ll naturally clarify your purpose and how it wants to express through your life.

Helpful Tips to Ease People-Pleasing (So You Can Hear Your Purpose)
• Pause and feel first. Before answering a request, take one slow breath and notice your body. Tight jaw, chest, or gut often means “not aligned.”
• Check your “why.” Say yes from genuine alignment, not from fear of rejection or wanting to look good.
• Use small boundaries. Try simple phrases: “Let me get back to you,” or “I’m not available for that, but here’s what I can do.”
• Rehearse authenticity. Practice speaking one honest sentence per day (kind and clear).
• Return to presence. When you drift into worry about how you’re perceived, place a hand on your chest, breathe, and name the moment: “Right now, I’m safe.”
• Celebrate alignment, not approval. Track how you feel after aligned choices—calmer, clearer, more energized. That feedback is your compass.
