Finding Meaning Through Everyday Life

Welcome to the second video in my Discovering Life Purpose series. This is one of my favourite topics because it touches every part of life. Your life purpose isn’t just a single event or achievement—it’s the way you live, grow, and show up each day.

Many people feel that something is missing in their lives, that their days lack meaning or direction. But that very feeling—that sense that something’s missing—is part of your life purpose calling you forward. It’s an inner signal inviting you to grow, to reconnect, and to realign with your authentic self.

The challenge is that we often look outside ourselves for our purpose. We chase achievements, approval, or recognition, believing those things will bring meaning. Yet your life purpose isn’t out there—it’s within you. It’s found through awareness, mindfulness, and connection to your inner world.

Your Inner Garden of Purpose

Think of your purpose like a garden. You don’t plant it once and walk away—you tend to it daily. You decide where to plant, what to water, what to prune, and what to remove. Over time, your inner garden grows strong and beautiful.

Your life purpose works the same way. It begins with inner cultivation—learning to connect to your true self, not the masks you wear to please others or meet external expectations. When we stop pretending and start listening inwardly, our natural inspiration begins to guide us.

No one else can tell you what your purpose is. Each of us has a unique path and essence that expresses through our individual light. The work is to create space to hear that inner calling.

Grounding Into the Body: The Foundation of Purpose

Later in this series, I’ll guide you through a visualization practice to help draw your outer purpose toward you. But first, we have to build the inner foundation—the connection to the body, breath, and present moment—so we can recognize purpose when it appears.

When we’re disconnected from our inner self—caught in fear, anxiety, people-pleasing, or overthinking—we lose touch with our inner guidance. To align again, we need to come back to the body, back to our breathing, and back to feeling what’s here now.

Through consistent mindfulness and awareness practice, you begin to feel truthfully what’s happening inside rather than reacting to others’ expectations. Over time, this awareness becomes clarity—your intuition sharpens, and your true purpose starts to reveal itself naturally.

The Practice of Returning To The Present Moment

This work takes discipline but offers profound rewards. Spend just five or ten minutes each day sitting with your breath. Notice how easily the mind wants to wander—thinking, doubting, or dismissing the process—and gently bring it back each time.

Every return to presence strengthens your awareness. Gradually, you start expanding your capacity to feel and to be in the moment. You begin observing the mind without getting swept away by it. This is where purpose lives—in the present moment, within your being.

When you are connected to your inner self, you become available for purpose. You can hear it, feel it, and express it through action. Your purpose begins to flow through you, naturally guiding your life toward alignment and fulfillment.

Grounding: Letting the Light Flow

Imagine a lamp that’s switched on but not plugged into the wall—it can’t shine until it’s grounded into the power source. The same is true for us. We might have the best intentions, but without being grounded—connected inwardly to our breath, body, and truth—the light of our purpose cannot flow through.

When we plug in and allow that current of energy to move through us, our unique light shines brightly. Spirit flows through us effortlessly, and our purpose begins to take shape in our outer world.

Helpful Tips to Deepen Awareness and Connection

• Start Small. Take five minutes daily to simply observe your breath and body sensations.

• Notice Disconnection. When anxiety or people-pleasing arise, gently return to yourself.

• Trust Your Feelings. Your emotions are guidance, not obstacles.

• Let Go of Approval. Your purpose isn’t defined by how others see you.

• Stay Grounded. Breathe deeply when you feel scattered—your inner peace reconnects you to clarity.
