Welcome to Video 14 in my Financial Stress & Money Mindset series.

In this article, I’d like to explore why I believe meditation is one of the most important practices for creating greater abundance in your life.

When people hear the word “manifesting,” they often imagine it’s about repeatedly thinking about what they want or somehow attracting it through positive thinking alone.

I see it a little differently.

Manifesting isn’t magic.

It’s about becoming the kind of person who naturally moves toward the life they want to create.

Meditation helps make that possible.

When we become present and begin aligning with our genuine interests, curiosities, values, and excitement, we naturally move toward experiences that support us. Rather than constantly chasing what we think we should have, we become more connected to what genuinely feels meaningful.

Our point of power is always in the present moment.

If we’re constantly avoiding who we are, fighting our feelings, or living in fear, it’s difficult to receive the opportunities already around us. Meditation gently brings us back to ourselves and helps us notice the subconscious patterns that may be blocking us.

Calming the Nervous System Opens Us to Possibility

One of the greatest benefits of meditation is that it helps calm the nervous system.

As we’ve discussed throughout this series, when we’re living in a chronic fight-or-flight state, our attention naturally focuses on problems, danger, lack, and survival. Our mind becomes hypervigilant, constantly scanning for what might go wrong.

In that state, it’s very difficult to notice opportunities, creativity, or abundance.

Meditation gradually shifts us toward the parasympathetic nervous system—the state associated with rest, healing, creativity, openness, and emotional balance.

As our body begins feeling safer, our perspective naturally changes.

Instead of constantly reacting to life, we begin responding with greater awareness.

We become more curious.

More creative.

More open to possibility.

Rather than seeing only problems, we begin noticing opportunities that may have been there all along.

Meditation doesn’t create abundance by itself.

It helps create the inner conditions that allow us to recognize it.

Seeing What’s Already Here

Meditation also helps us become aware of the subconscious beliefs and emotional patterns that quietly shape our lives.

As we practise simply observing our thoughts, feelings, and body sensations, we begin noticing old patterns of fear, lack, self-doubt, and limiting beliefs as they arise.

Instead of automatically believing them, we can gently observe them and begin working through them.

This is one of the reasons meditation is so powerful.

It gives us the awareness to recognize what’s been holding us back.

When we’re practising returning to the present moment, we’re also practising being available to life.

We’re more open to opportunities.

More connected to our curiosity.

More willing to explore new possibilities.

Manifesting isn’t about forcing life to give us what we want.

It’s about allowing ourselves to flow with life instead of constantly resisting it.

When I look around nature, I see abundance everywhere.

Trees continue growing from old stumps.

Plants flourish in unexpected places.

Life naturally moves toward growth.

As our nervous system becomes calmer, we begin seeing life differently too.

Instead of automatically focusing on what’s missing, we start appreciating what’s already here.

Gratitude begins arising more naturally.

Not because we’re forcing ourselves to think positively, but because we’re finally present enough to notice the abundance that’s been surrounding us all along.

Financial Stress & Money Mindset Series:

Practising Presence Every Day

Meditation isn’t something we practise only while sitting quietly at home.

It’s preparing us for everyday life.

Each morning, as we sit with our breathing and simply notice our thoughts, emotions, and body sensations, we’re strengthening our ability to stay present.

Then, when life becomes challenging, we’re much more able to do the same thing.

Instead of immediately reacting, we pause.

We breathe.

We notice what we’re feeling.

Rather than becoming overwhelmed by fear or uncertainty, we’re able to stay with the experience and begin looking for solutions.

This is where real change begins.

As I’ve mentioned before in this series, if you want something you’ve never had, you need to become someone you’ve never been.

Meditation helps create that transformation.

As you continue practising, you naturally begin letting go of behaviours that no longer support you. You build greater confidence, trust yourself more deeply, and become more willing to take healthy steps toward the life you want.

Little by little, you begin noticing your own growth.

You realize you’re capable of more than you once believed.

Instead of trying to force abundance into your life, you become a person who naturally recognizes opportunities, appreciates the present moment, and moves toward what genuinely matters.

That’s what I believe manifesting is really about.

Meditation Creates the Foundation for Abundance

This is why I believe meditation is so important.

If we can’t be present, it’s very difficult to fully experience the life we’re trying to create.

The future is always created from the choices we make today.

When we’re present, we become aware of our thoughts, feelings, and behaviours as they’re happening. We begin noticing what supports us and what keeps pulling us back into old patterns.

As we continue practising, appreciation starts becoming more natural.

We notice what we’ve accomplished.

We recognize our own growth.

We become more grateful for the opportunities already in front of us.

Rather than constantly reaching for happiness somewhere in the future, we begin experiencing more of it right here in the present moment.

That’s why I encourage people to meditate every day.

It’s not simply a relaxation exercise.

It’s a practice of becoming more aware, more authentic, more resilient, and more open to the abundance that’s already available in life.

If you would like support with this, I offer a free one-hour video consultation where we can explore the limiting beliefs, emotional patterns, nervous system responses, or subconscious habits that may be affecting your ability to experience greater confidence, fulfilment, and abundance. Together we can discuss your goals, explore what may be holding you back, explain my therapy approach, and see whether we’re the right fit to work together.

One final thought before you go.

Meditation isn’t about escaping life.

It’s about becoming fully present for it.

The more present you become, the more you’ll naturally recognize opportunities, appreciate what already exists, and move toward the life that’s genuinely aligned with who you are.

In the next and final video of this series, we’ll bring everything together and explore how these principles become a natural way of living—helping you create greater abundance from the inside out.

Thank you for reading, and I wish you a wonderful week.
